Eid is a time of celebration, a time for gathering with loved ones, and a time for indulging in the delicious qurbani meat that brings us so much joy!
But as we eagerly prepare to feast and celebrate, let’s take a moment to think about those
who may not have the same blessings as we do.
For our Yemeni brothers and sisters, Eid is just another day of struggle.
It’s another day without food on the table, another day filled with uncertainty and hardship.
Imagine enduring years of war, witnessing the destruction of homes and communities,
and feeling the constant pangs of hunger with no relief in sight.
Yemen In Crisis
Decades of civil war in Yemen have claimed millions of lives, leaving countless children orphaned and the country’s food systems utterly devastated.
Approximately 4.5 million people have been displaced as a result.
Yemen, as per the Global Hunger Index, is facing a level of hunger that is alarming, with over 17 million individuals, teetering on the edge of starvation each day, facing acute hunger and malnourishment.
With a population of 32.6 million, a staggering 80 percent of Yemenis live below the poverty line,
surviving on a mere $2.15 a day.
The Plight Of Yemen’s Orphans
In such harsh conditions imagine what the orphans in Yemen go through.
Yemen has over 1.1 million orphans with no one to provide for them.
They face severe food shortages worsened by water scarcity, often going days without food,
uncertain of when their next meal will come.
Would we ever let our children go through something like this?
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said,
“You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it.”
How can we sit idly by in the comfort of our homes, feasting on qurbani meat when we know the orphans in Yemen are starving?
Let YIAD Deliver Your Qurbani To The Orphans In Yemen
This Dhul Hijjah Allah SWT has given us a chance to follow the noble tradition of Prophet Ibrahim AS by making a sacrifice for His sake.
We have the opportunity to provide vulnerable orphans with fresh, high-quality meat and this may be one of the only times they are able to eat meat in the whole year.
Let’s honor this sacred decree by giving our Qurbani to orphans in Yemen.
Like all children, they deserve to be safe, happy, and well fed.
Your donation will provide them with the nourishment they desperately need and bring smiles to their faces.
